Yet Another Free Political DNC Ad by the Roanoke Times

Roanoke Times, 5/18/08, Pg Horiz 1: Bush’s great war sacrifice? A 50 square inch, five thousand dollar, free advertisement hawked by Dan R. and the editors of the Roanoke Times in support of Howard Dean and the Democrat Party.
-
A portion of this tripe dealt with critiquing what the President has been doing personally during the Iraq War including cutting brush at his ranch. Dan didn’t say much in his article about Abraham and Mary going to plays at the theatre during the bloodiest conflict in American history. Also haven’t seen Dan’s exposes about FDR hanging out at Warm Springs with his favorite mistress during the second bloodiest conflict in history or Bill doing phone-sex with Monica during the conflict in Bosnia.
-
The real interesting part is his totally warped view of the start of the Iraq War and who supported removing Sadam from power, stopping him from once again using poison gas on Iraqi civilians, and development of long-range missiles with nuclear war-heads.
-
Dar R, the RT editors and their associates at the DNC need to review what the positions of major Democrat leaders were leading up to the war. Democrat Leaders like:
-
Madeleine Albright
Pres. W. Clinton
Howard Dean
Sandy Berger
Nancy Pelosi
Sen Jay Rockefeller
Sen Joe Biden
Sen Harry Reid
Sen Hillary Clinton
Sen Evan Bayh

100,000 Dead and it's YOUR Fault!

Former vice president tells NPR's 'Fresh Air' host Terry Gross, May 6, that the Myanmar cyclone is example of 'consequences that scientists have long predicted might be associated with continued global warming.'
http://www.businessandmedia.org/articles/2008/20080506160205.aspx
-
According to Mr Gore the 100,000 died because YOU drive your car, use electricity, heat and air-condition your house and breath-out, thus causing man-made CO2 that results in global warming that results in climate change.
-
Mr Gore and his associates continue their fear-mongering and money-making exploitation of data that clearly does not support their hypothesis and claims.
-
Our current warming cycle started at the end of the little ice age in 1750 well before any man-made CO2. Published NASA data states that we have had one (1) degree of warming in the last 100 years, most of which occurred before World War 2, and no (zero) warming during the past 10 years.
-
Mr Gore’s claims are not only false but appear to represent irresponsible behavior for the purpose of personal, political and monetary gains.

Stop The Executions

Roanoke Times, 5/8/08, Pg 1 & 8: 1981 killer of two shoots two more people
-
For some reason the Roanoke Times Editorial Board chose not to use their typical headline for this type news story: “Stop the Executions – no more death penalty”.
-
Perhaps it’s because executions are happening all the time, it’s just that the bad guys are doing the executing and in this case it’s the same killer striking for a second time along the Appalachian Trail.
-
The RT Editors are very upset with the recent Supreme Court decision that the current death penalty process is OK. It would be appropriate for the RT Editors to comment on how humane Randall Smith performs executions and whether or not his victims experience pain.
-
Perhaps the editors could do a follow-up story comparing this Randall Smith situation to the poster-boy for life imprisonment multiple killer Lemuel Smith.
