an outcry, the FCC chairman said he would amend the effort to asses whether the
news media were meeting the public’s “critical information needs”.
The chairman responded to the growing furor by ordering

Third: I have Googled this FCC action with ABC, NBC, CBS and CNN and cannot find any coverage or objections to this gross intrusion into their 1st Amendment rights. Apparently they are OK with all this! Also, the editors at the Roanoke Times have not expressed any problems with federal government agents joining their morning round-table and shadowing and questioning their reporters. Wonder why they haven’t invited me for morning coffee? Oh right – they won’t even print my LTE’s! They’re so fair and balanced!
