A Perspective On Bad Command

-
Navy Capt. Crozier, fired for letter about coronavirus on USS Roosevelt, gets big send-off from sailors
-
-
The commanding officer of the USS Roosevelt wrote a very unusual and totally inappropriate letter to his HQ about coronavirus issues on his ship.  More unusual and extremely dangerous was that letter immediately became public.
-
The USS Roosevelt represents a Major Component of our nuclear and nonnuclear capabilities and an enormous investment of men, money and naval and airpower assets at a time when there are multiple sworn enemies that stand ready to do us harm.
-
Any communications dealing with any negative impacts to the Combat Readiness of the USS Roosevelt is by definition Restricted Top Secret and would be so encrypted and sent through appropriate secure channels.
-
This naval officer placed his ship, his men and the security of the US in jeopardy.
He has no way of knowing if this is one element of an ongoing Biological Warfare event.
He has no way of knowing if this is a ‘test’ to determine how our combat forces would react to a Biological Warfare incident.
-
It is impossible to comprehend that he will be retained in the service.
It is very appropriate that he be Court Martialed with severe penalties.
The raucous all-crew attaboy departure rally is further proof positive of his unfitness for command and adds further dishonor upon his record.

Apr 6 PM:  Navy leader calls fired carrier captain ‘naive’ or ‘stupid’

““It is the mission of the ship that matters,” he said. “You all know this, but in my view your Captain lost sight of this and he compromised critical information about your status intentionally to draw greater attention to your situation.”
