True to their ‘left-wing form’, the Roanoke Times is hyping illegal voters voting because they view them as ProDemocrats; in this case ‘voters’ who self-identified as ‘illegal immigrants’, a class of people Not Eligible to vote in Federal Elections per many year federal law.

This is Major PravdaMedia MisInformation that these ‘potential voters’ have No recourse!
All these ‘potential voters’ can request a ‘provisional ballot’ on election day at their polling place and then cast that ‘provisional ballot’.
That will result in a state process to determine if they are ‘legal voters’ thereby allowing their votes to be counted!

Youngkin administration wrongly purged 3,400 voters in 2023
On Thursday, the U.S. Supreme Court appeared to settle the matter, at least in terms of next week’s election.
The justices ruled that Gov. Glenn Youngkin can temporarily purge from Virginia’s voting rolls some 1,600 previously registered Virginia voters who might be noncitizens, while federal courts consider a lawsuit over Youngkin’s action.
Those registered voters were flagged as potential noncitizens because they recently filled out paper or online forms with the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles, such as to renew a driver’s license or update an address.
