Dismantling the Department of Education? Trump's plan for schools in his second term - ABC News
Trump's Agenda47 campaign proposed eliminating the Department of Education -- which, according to the DOE website, "establishes policy for, administers and coordinates most federal assistance to education."
The DOE, established by President Jimmy Carter, provides programs such as Title I funding for low-achieving or high-poverty K-12 schools in need of support, as well as Pell Grants for undergraduate students in high financial need.

In other words the DofE:
-
Supports and aids the massive teacher’s unions’ that showed their anti-education priorities during the Covid pandemic.
-
Hands out massive taxpayer funds to states of their choosing.
-
Has overseen massive reductions in student achievement scores since their formation.
-
Has no visible value-add to the 50 state departments of education run by the states for the benefit of their students.

Proposal:
Eliminate the Federal DofEd and send education-$$$$ to the states based on poverty levels and number of students enrolled with bonuses based on outcomes.
