Israel has pursued a ‘Scorched Earth War’ against Hamas since the Oct 7th massacre.
Their tactics have focused on massive destruction of the Gaza infrastructure including the Hamas assets included therein.
Much of Gaza now looks like Berlin and Hamburg after WW2.
All this being done with a major focus on minimizing loss of Israeli troops and assets and concern for the Hostages.
It now appears Israel is about to engage in ‘find, fix, fight, finish’ infantry tactics.
WW2’s tunnel warfare on ‘Iwo Jima and Mt. Suribachi’ was brutal and a likely analog to Gaza’s tunnel warfare.
To ‘end the war’ Hamas must be destroyed with any survivors subject to the WW2 type War Crimes Tribunals.
Israel must ensure that ‘the solution’ going forward precludes Hamas-type entities from ever gaining control of the Gaza territory again.

The key unknown now is will the US and current allies have the 'intestinal fortitude' to support Israel in this finalize and clean-up phase of operations as was done in Europe and Japan in 1945.
