This week the Roanoke weather TV people went postal forecasting massive arctic-type weather for the Roanoke Valley with forecasts of multiple feet of snow Saturday night into Sunday. Be afraid – be very afraid!

Sunday morning the Roanoke-Area TV weather people tried desperately to make avalanches out of what hunters would call ‘hardly tracking snow’.
A real-time-news ride up I-81 with not enough snow to plow – although plows were dispatched for the projected blizzard – we’re here -- so – lower the blades and run.

Somehow the investment of hundreds of millions of dollars into weather forecasting has been disappointing at best – reflections of the apocalyptic global warming thing.
However, the antics and body-language of the “weather-people” make watching TV somewhat entertaining if not informative.
