President Donald Trump's administration has created a nearly $1.8 billion fund to pay people who say they were victims of government "weaponization," raising questions about whom among his allies and supporters – including those who rioted at the Capitol on Jan. 6 – might get payouts from taxpayers, as well as what kind of influence Trump will wield over the fund.

It’s assumed that these funds will be earmarked primarily for those who allegedly were wrongly and significantly damaged and maligned following the January 6, 2021 riot.
There were felons who deserved their comeuppance and harsh treatment!
But clearly there were people who were swept-up into wide-spread felony nets who were Not Felons albeit they may have committed misdemeanors like trespassing.
Many have had their sentences commuted after serving ‘hard-time’ when probation and fines would have been appropriate.
