New York won’t build big data centers for a year as it weighs energy and climate risks

Gov. Kathy Hochul signed an executive order Tuesday imposing the country’s first statewide moratorium on hyperscale data centers, which house thousands of computer servers and require massive amounts of energy and a steady supply of water to keep cool.

NYS is now “economically” a 50-mile wide corridor from NYC up the Hudson to Albany and out toward Montauk.
The rest of the state is now seriously economically-degraded and deteriorating.
The cost of living and lack of opportunity, even in rural areas, is driving a massive exodus to other states and fewer workers remain in NYS after retirement.

The Simpson’s Visit The UpState-NY Malaise
The Simpsons’ mocked upstate NY in a disparaging video of the malaise of what once was a beautiful and prosperous area. However, there is nothing ‘funny’ about the plight of ‘UpState-NY’ (that massive area primarily north of the Tappan Zee Bridge.
Much of the beauty remains but much of the prosperity has gone.

Once again “UpState NY” is the brunt of disparaging jokes about rural-blight and decline and economic-abandonment. How sad!

The Democrat domination of ALL of NY has resulted in the ‘economic decline of UpState NY in favor of the several big metropolises.
Taxes and Regulations and diversion of Incentives have driven manufacturing businesses and their employees and retirees out of the state and now welfare and government jobs have replaced the vibrant upstate of the 1960’s.
