About the time this property started development there were articles in the Roanoke Times highlighting a Roanoke Teacher, Ms. James, who had developed a program to help ‘vet’ school employees to minimize the chance of high-risk persons being hired or retained. The program was sold to a software company for many millions.
Strange, Current Google searches are void of any links to any of this ‘history’; it’s as if it never happened.

‘Rap Back’, which launched on July 1, is a service that continuously monitors criminal records for all employees, Level 3 volunteers and contractors, giving FCPS real-time alerts for arrests, convictions and other criminal offenses for reports in Virginia and to the FBI by other states. Before this program, background checks only gave a "snapshot in time," FCPS said.

Roanoke’s North Cross School will use the largest financial gift of its kind to support its CrossWalk program.
The private school announced Monday that Jessica and Michael James, parents of North Cross students, gave $750,000 that will positively impact every student.
It is the largest gift ever made to the school’s annual fund in its 79-year history, according to a North Cross news release.

Whether or not the ’vetting program’ now in use is the original program or a new program, it appears it will become a commonly used tool to improve school security and student safety.
And, the new home at Deer Creek has set a new standard for opulence.
