The NRA and US hunters and gun owners have long told us that more guns in American hands would make us safer and reduce crime – and now the data --- voilà! – eureka!
Perhaps bad-people are having second thoughts about confronting people, homes and businesses that may have the ability to resist and perhaps retaliate.
Observation: Not many people kick Dobermans!

Approximately 32% of American adults personally own a firearm, and about 42% live in a household with a gun.
The next step is to increase the number of concealed carry persons qualified to confront criminals. Many organizations and churches have made progress in that endeavor.
So much for ‘silence of the lambs!’

Homicides are on track to hit their lowest point in recorded U.S. history amid an overall decline in crime nationwide, according to the Council on Criminal Justice’s midyear report released Thursday.
The organization said the drop in homicides this year is already outpacing the reductions made in 2025, which, before the report, was expected to have the nation’s lowest homicide rate since at least 1900 once the FBI publishes its annual crime review later this year.

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - Overall crime in Roanoke dropped 23% in the first quarter of 2026 compared to the same period last year, police said Thursday. This, despite the city recording seven murders so far this year.
The city saw nine murders in all of 2025. This year has seen five homicide incidents, the same number as this time last year, but two of them were double homicides.
