The Appomattox County Board of Supervisors on Monday voted to approve a “performance agreement” with the developer of a proposed data center project on nearly 450 acres of land in the county.

Now famous: The place a massive Data Center will bring jobs and massive Tax Relief to Appomattox County taxpayers whose property values recently jumped (before the data center issues) over 52%, new tax rate set for 2027.

The county now going forward “could easily forgive” private property taxes and sales, food, entertainment and vehicle taxes.

The Appomattox County Board of Supervisors on Monday voted to approve a “performance agreement” with the developer of a proposed data center project on nearly 450 acres of land in the county.

The board’s action came after the Appomattox County Economic Development Authority reached an agreement with the data center developer, AVAIO Digital, in December 2024 to build the data center at 267 Industrial Park Lane, about a mile north of the town of Appomattox.
