The AI Fix Is In

-
A small number of players have cornered the US AI-game and have played the Media and Stock Market like violin players to relative-
heights not seen since 1939.
Never have so few gained so much for so little product performance so far.

Now they are bringing forward scare tactics that is overshadowing both the nuclear weapons and the nuclear power hysteria of my youth.
-
It’s as if HG Wells was replaying the “1938 War of the World” again on every US TV (was Radio) with the associated-resultant fear and panic and hysteria.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_War_of_the_Worlds_(1938_radio_drama)
In that case it was a theatrical hit by Wells for notoriety and personal fame
Today it appears there are extended and major devious and self-serving motivations.
-
Suppose back in the 1930’s the five leading car makers had told congress that their products were potentially dangerous. That soon their products would kill 50,000 and injure 250,000 American’s each year --- and that the avoidance answer would be for a set of laws-rules to be worked out by them and enacted by Congress to avoid that looming tragedy
The legislation enacted would have the results:
1. The accidents and injuries happened anyway and the real product safety didn’t materialize
2. The gang-of-five cemented their monopoly on the industry under the blanket of US Law
-
It’s interesting how claiming government enacted laws solve all problems, flies in the face of reality and history.
It’s also interesting how very smart greedy men can conjure up scenarios to use the government power for their own ends.
-
Stopping the US expedited development of the nuclear bomb would Not have stopped development of nuclear weapons and rockets by Others and could have become a devastating weapon used again US with unknown outcomes.
We remember who Von Braun and Heisenberg were working for and who they would have been working for if we didn’t kidnap them and their teams.

As AI panic spreads among Americans, Congress is under pressure to act

Palantir Chief Technical Officer Shyam Sankar is warning of "attempted coup" from "unseen" hands pushing back on "technological progress" that artificial intelligence may bring.
Bipartisan, big tech push for AI regulation comes as Trump claims 'hoax' | Live Updates from Fox News Digital
"There is an unseen hand pushing AI safety as a political ideology," Sankar wrote Monday night on X.
"Effective Altruists believe a tiny group of technocrats should decide how much technological progress the rest of us are allowed to have…. and how many shrimp your life is worth.
"You are witnessing their attempted coup."
