Dodge Charger EV will artificially vibrate like it has a V8, says patent - Autoblog
First came the fake exhaust tips. Then came fake engine noises. Fake vents have always been a thing. But now the upcoming Dodge Charger EV will reportedly introduce an all-new form of deception: fake vibrations to mimic the rumble of a V8 engine.

Fake noise from an EV is important to help dissuade pedestrians from stepping out into danger and to keep the driver aware that the ‘engine is still running’ (so be careful hitting the accelerator!).

In the early 1960’s keyboards for computers were being developed.
Typists were accustomed to the feel and noise “feedback” from mechanical & electric typewriters.
Because the new keyboards are simple electric switches with very minimal current, early engineering models simply shorted two wires together with almost no movement or sound.
-
The results were major negative issues for the typists who depended on tactile and sound feedback for their high-speed typing rhythm.
Result: key-press-motion and a clicking-element were and are designed and built into every keyboard simulating the old typewriter feel and sound.
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
