College Athletics Now ‘Pay To Play’

-
Virginia law allows state's colleges, universities to directly pay athletes through NIL deals - Washington Times
“If this law gets us closer to a federal or a national solution for college athletics then it will be more than worthwhile,” University of Virginia athletic director Carla Williams told ESPN. “Until then, we have an obligation to ensure we maintain an elite athletics program at UVA.”
-
Is that really the universities 'obligation' to their students?
-
-
Apparently ‘scholarships and stipends’ aren’t enough for our athletes.
We have now crossed the Rubicon into real Pay2Play.
Probably inevitable for the multi-million dollar college athletic programs and the multi-million dollar coaching staffs.
-
So much for those naive few who view college as a place for intellectual and personal development and study and research.
