The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service said the large freshwater darter, which grows to between 3 and 6 inches long in adulthood, is no longer at risk of extinction.

(Reality: they were never at ‘risk of extinction’ and even if they were, aren’t we all!)

The SnailDarter and the LogPerch are now both OFF the ‘endangered species act list’. A law invented by radical-environmentalists hell-bent to stop any activity they did not endorse.
The Roanoke River flood control project was such an activity and the act was used to convert ‘flood control’ into ‘river bank beautification’!
After spending $80-Million dollars of tax-payer funding, Roanoke is just as subject to flooding as when it was Big Lick.
The ongoing effort now is to use more tax-payer money to relocate residents, buy and demolish homes and businesses and lay fallow the flood-prone land.
In addition to city taxes and rain-runoff fees, residents are paying big increases in flood insurance.
This is another prime example of major government malfeasance cloaked in the name of conservation do-gooding and aided-and-abated by the PravdaMedia.
