Defense attorney Gil Davis apparently was unhappy with the verdict and the sentencing and said: “this is a culture that is probably not going to be knocked out by one case.”
That’s probably an understatement based on moonshines legal conflicts that go back to the Whiskey Rebellion and George Washington’s army of over 10,000 troops attacking the farmers of Western Pennsylvania who rebelled in 1794 against a Federal tax on whiskey.

Apparently a Kroger employee naively asked Obama if his children would be enrolled in whatever the new socialized medical plan turns out to be. Obama answered yes! Get real! He’ll enroll his kids in the new public medical plan just like he has enrolled his kids in the public school system! Why does he keep insulting our intelligence? At some point is that not defined as arrogance?

The Norwegian Barents Observer reports that on 8/1/09 The Norwegian Operational Command Headquarters will open in Reitan, outside Bodo in extreme northern Norway.

For those who thought that Obama’s longtime nasty spiritual advisor Rev Wright was an anomaly, out of the box pops Harvard Professor Henry Gates. He’s an old Obama friend and black studies expert on W.E.B. Dubois, who many consider the virtual-originator of what became, many years later, the Black Panther Party.

Gates was arrested July 16 by Sgt. James Crowley, a Cambridge Police Officer, who was first to respond to the home the renowned black scholar rents from Harvard, after a woman reported seeing two black men trying to force open the front door. Gates said he had to shove the door open because it was jammed.

Gates was charged with disorderly conduct after police said he yelled at the white officer, accused him of racial bias, disrespected the officer’s mother and refused to calm down after Crowley demanded Gates show him identification to prove he lived in the home. The home had been broken into during the previous month and this incident was clearly a "forced entry".

Without any detailed information about the incident, Obama publicly declared that the police involved “acted stupidly”.

There has been a national backlash by police officers and organizations around the country blasting Obama for “acting stupidly” and running his mouth when he should have been gathering the facts! Apparently he didn’t have his teleprompter with him.

A well deserved and timely publishing of this most important document in our history, however, amazingly the Roanoke Times editor included the last paragraph:
“And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the Protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor”.

Clearly the editorial page editor and the Roanoke Times editorial team included this paragraph in an error of commission!
They-all clearly have sided with every anti-God and anti-Jesus action by atheists, the ACLU, and most recently Obama in his “Ish Bin Ein Muslim” speech in which he declared to the world that “America is NOT a Judean-Christian nation.”

Roanoke Times, 7/20/09, Pg 1: Study links pollution to lower IQ scores. Researchers attached air-monitoring devices to women in the last few months of pregnancy.

This study makes one wonder not about the IQ of the women and children studied but of the researchers involved and all those who chose to write about this study and even chose to put it on the front page of a news paper (other than the Inquirer).

Cause and effect relationships dealing with people and particularly their IQ levels would certainly require a great deal more than “attaching air-monitoring devices to women in the last few months of pregnancy”.
-
This tripe is similar to the study reporting that the sons of women who smoke are much more likely to be future prison inmates than those who don’t smoke.
-
Women who smoke during child-bearing and those who live in areas with “bad- air” clearly form a selective group in which there are many potential causal parameters from both nature and nurture. Some simple issues include: what are the mother’s and father’s IQs and family history and how many drugs have they taken and when and what kind?
-
To publish this tripe as news is irresponsible and unprofessional and those involved should be ashamed and apologize to those studied and to the public for insulting their intelligence!

A wonderful heartwarming FREE-political ad by the Roanoke Times for their Democrat candidate for Va Governor highlighting Deeds wonderful positions and attributes and vigorously villainizing his Republican Opponent Bob McDonnell.

Forty-three square-inches with photogenic picture of Deeds on page 1 with an ongoing 60 square-inches on page 14. What’s the going price for this type of a political ad and does the election law require the Roanoke Times to declare that amount as a campaign contribution?

It’s unfortunate that the editorial board of the Roanoke Times doesn’t understand that fair and balanced news reporting is a key part of our democratic political system. Apparently it takes more than a degree in journalism to make a real journalist. Clearly these folks need not apply for the Tim Russert fairness award!

Apparently Perriello, Boucher and their friends at the Roanoke Times feel that energy is too cheap!

Roanoke Times, 7/6/09, Pg 7: GOP ads target Boucher and Perriello for supporting the Gore, Obama, Pelosi, Reid Cap&Trade bill.

RT, 7/7/09, Pg 8: The Roanoke Times and their business partner WDBJ (chan 7) refused to run the anti-Cap&Trade Bill without editing, albeit that two other local TV stations ran the ad.

Isn’t it comforting that the Roanoke Times is editing paid advertising that criticizes a major piece of incredibly bad legislation and their friend Perriello who voted for it. Most people had no idea that the editorial board of the RT is an integral part of Perriello’s media team.

A very interesting part of the Cap & TAX story is its intersection with the ongoing AEP rate increase hearings. These increases are based on the increased energy costs to AEP beyond those calculated into the current rate structure.

So, let’s rail against current increases in energy costs, but let’s get behind and support the largest energy tax package the world has ever seen! What do these people think is going to happen based on the Obama, Pelosi, Reid energy policy of reducing and taxing current energy supply systems and replacing them with very expensive and unreliable and intermittent systems based on the sun-shining and the wind-blowing.

The most disturbing part of all this is that Obama, Pelosi, Reid are promoting these changes based on a totally false Gore-hypothesis that man-made CO2 is causing catastrophic climate changes.
Perhaps Perriello is starting to get the message that the wheels are coming off that wagon because his latest mass mailing indicates he voted for the Cap&TAX Bill because it supports homeland security.
Really? How can it do that when it does not generate one BTU of energy, one Kilowatt of electricity, one barrel of oil or one ton of coal!
It does not reduce our dependency on foreign energy supply which is precisely what is required to help our security!
What it does do is to apply a major tax to energy production and CO2 generating processes like fertilizers and lime (key to food prices) and cement (key to construction prices).

Join the majority of educated people of the world who reject the Gore-Hypothesis and are questioning making major bad policy based on faulty hypothesis.

After hundreds of hours of media coverage, thousands of articles and millions of words all exalting the king-of-pop the beat continues to go on without end and all in the name of “news”.

Perhaps the reality is that for the first half of his life Michael was a talented performer and for the second half of his life Michael was a colossal disappointment to those who believe being reasonable, prudent and responsible are important human attributes.
