Two men shot in Roanoke's 7th nonfatal shooting of 2024
Two men were shot Wednesday evening in Roanoke’s 7th nonfatal gunfire incident since Jan. 1.
At about 7 p.m., city police were summoned by a shots fired call to the 3800 block of Stratford Park Drive Southwest, according to a news release from the department.
Responding officers found two adult male victims, one whose gunshot wound appeared critical and one whose did not appear life-threatening, according to the release. Roanoke Fire-EMS Department personnel transported the men to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for treatment.

It has been common practice for the LeftWingers to marginalize and attack Christian Schools!
Primary motivations appear to be ‘eliminating the competition’:
* Funding: those paying ten-thousand-plus a year for nonpublic schooling are Not motivated to support public schools.
* Compatibility: children attending nonpuhlic schools appear to be pro-school and better behaved and compatible with the school environment.
* Academic: children attending nonpublic schools appear more focused on learning and academic achievement with more parental support.

GCU is known for helping the low-income community of Phoenix. It has a successful record of graduating students into good jobs, including in the trades. It celebrates diversity of viewpoints and ideas. And most impressively, GCU has not raised tuition for their students in over 15 years.

Israel’s military said Sunday that “99%” of projectiles fired by Iran were intercepted by Israel and its partners, with only “a small number” of ballistic missiles reaching Israel.
In total, around 170 drones, more than 30 cruise missiles and more than 120 ballistic missiles were launched at Israel by Iran overnight Saturday, the military said.
US officials said more than 70 drones and three ballistic missiles were intercepted by US Navy ships and military aircraft, without giving details of exactly what defenses were used to bring down the projectiles.
The US Navy shot down at least three ballistic missiles using the Aegis missile defense system aboard two guided-missiles destroyers in the eastern Mediterranean, officials told CNN’s Oren Liebermann at the Pentagon.

WSJ: The Palestinian militants who raided Israel in the Hamas attacks on Oct. 7 killed over 1,200 people, according to Israel, and abducted over 240 civilians and soldiers, bringing them back to the Gaza Strip.

The Corps of Engineers set out to perform flood control on the Roanoke River adjacent to Roanoke. Upon starting the project the EPA demanded that the river bottom Not be dredged deeper to accommodate flood waters because of two cute little endangered fish.
The result was $72-Million dollars of river bank beautification and ongoing tens of millions of additional dollars of buying flooded homes and businesses and relocation of residents.

But NOW the cute little endangered fish aren’t endangered anymore and all this cost and ongoing never ending flooding disruption was all in vain! Who knew?

Would be appropriate for the Roanoke Times staff to hold a party for all those associated with this disruptive fiasco so that the residents of Roanoke can thank them personally for their good works.
