Global Warming, Political Science, and Apocalypse Not Now

-
Roanoke Times, 11-29-10, Pg 10: Debating climate change in the Roanoke Times blog.
What a refreshing concept; a debate about climate change. Apparently there now are OK real people who are skeptics. Unfortunately the debate is among ordinary folks and not between the state-of-the-art skeptics vs. alarmists. The alarmists have steadfastly refused open and fair debate in any forum, any time or any place. They wear a mantra of “consensus” as their excuse for politically convenient predetermined conclusions and hide from direct one-on-one professional debate.
-
Pg 6: Delegates will strive for progress on climate deal to curb climate change.
Perhaps it’s difficult to define a “deal” that will address the natural variations in the earth’s natural processes including: climate change, temperature variations, el ninos and la ninas, hurricanes, rising and falling tides, and rising and setting sunsets. To say nothing about those darn shifting, drifting and heaving tectonic plates. Apparently we'll have a treaty to contain them next year.
-
Pg 10: Editorial: Climate change debunker debunked.
A focused personal attack upon a global warming skeptic professor with lots of accusations presented as proven facts. On second read: the Professor’s facts aren’t questioned – just his sources and credits. What a change from the editorial approach to the ClimateGate, GlacierGate, OzoneGate, BinLadenGate, AfricaGate, DutchGate, IndiaGate scandals which were immediately shrugged off as much to do about little or nothing and quickly swept under the consensus-rug.

-
For example: not found in the RT was any mention of distinguished Professor Hal Lewis’ Letter: “My Resignation From The American Physical Society”. Lewis’ resignation was a significant scientific community event acknowledged by both skeptics and alarmists but alas not by the RT Editors who diligently carry the Gore-Candle as their view of news.
http://roanokeslant.blogspot.com/2010/10/distinguished-scientist-hal-lewis.html
-
Also not found in the RT is an Editorial explaining where the apocalyptic hurricanes are that were forecast for this year by the alarmist Apocalypse-Now Goreites!
The following is offered for their enlightenment:
http://www.wtok.com/home/headlines/US_Escapes_Major_Hurricanes_in_2010__110996004.html

U.S. Escapes Major Hurricanes in 2010 (none hit US mainland again!)
A busy Atlantic hurricane season ends Tuesday. The U.S. has been spared any major storms for a fifth straight year. Posted: 3:26 PM Nov 29, 2010; Reporter: The Associated Press; Hurricane Wilma in 2005 was the last major hurricane of Category 3 or stronger to hit the U.S. The U.S. has never before gone more than five consecutive years without a major hurricane.
-
(The alarmists and the RT Editors will inform us that the next one to hit will be caused by carbon-driven climate change and it's your fault!)

WikiLeaks, Obama, Ellsburg and The Left WingNuts

-
The left-wing liberal-progressive world community was elated when Daniel Ellsburg released thousands of pages of classified papers about the Viet Nam war to the New York Times in 1971. “What a wonderful and patriotic act” sung the liberal-choir!
http://www.u-s-history.com/pages/h1871.html
-
Fast forward to 2010 and the WikiLeaks Obama and Hillary Clinton State Department publications and now it’s a whole new ball game.
How dare these nasty people release material that makes Obama, Hillary and their lackeys look like the key-stone cops!
-
Holden , Obama’s adjutant general who wants to play nice with terrorists who kill Americans, is now investigating what he normally would declare as a 1st Amendment and Free Press right. But not now! Making Obama look incredibly dull before the entire world (who are supposed to love him) is an act of treason at best.
-
The hypocrisy of Obama, his pathetic team and the so called major media and press is unsurpassed in US history.

Just more hope and change and hypocrisy we can believe in!

The Obama Arrogance Infects Our Government

King Obama and his court jesters continue to treat the American people with total arrogance and condescension.
-
This week his so called homeland security chief, Janet Napolitano, told the American people
“if you don’t want us to touch your genitals, then don’t fly!”
This from one of the dullest cabinet officers to ever serve any President.
-
Apparently the American people’s distain for Obama’s policies and his associates and the recent election results are totally foreign to these simpletons.
-
Are Michelle and Hillary being felt-up by these TSA men who can’t get a real job?
Obviously NOT! But it’s OK for you and me; we’re just minions and faceless clones in the crowd.
-
The Apple advertisement video showing the enslaved person throwing a hammer through the movie screen, in a stark reference to 1984, is certainly appropriate now for this administration and it’s lackeys.

Justifiable Bias?

-
Roanoke Times, 11-9-10, Pg 1 & 14: Ga. Teen is fatally beaten by brawlers. Bystanders watched while the random victim was swiftly killed by beating.
-
A home party for invited guests turned deadly when four young black thugs crashed the party and then randomly selected a young black youth for killing by beating.
-
Perhaps we should flash back two years ago when Obama reflected on his Grandmother’s expressed fears of being alone and meeting young black men on a city street. Was that not viewed by most as a reasonable and prudent and very understandable feeling felt by many people required to walk intercity streets yet today?
-
These four animals are not people. They are pit-bulls who killed violently and without any regard for human life or dignity and they have forfeited their right to claim membership in the human race.
-
They are poster examples of why many people have negative and suspicious feelings about young black males and feel that this is “Justifiable Bias”.
-
These pit-bulls will probably bounce around the justice system for many years and will probably escape the death penalty. By then the media will exploit their sad upbringing as the justifiable reason for their acts and no one will even remember the young man who was destroyed by their boots.
Added to that will be the liberal-progressive media who will turn loose the political correctness police upon anyone who dares reflect on the stark facts of the event or on the life of the victim?
-
The recent NPR Juan Williams episode was clearly another example in which the public clearly and overwhelmingly sided with Juan for his “Justifiable Bias” of discomfort at being on a plane with devout Muslims in their garb.
http://roanokeslant.blogspot.com/2010/10/npr-cans-juan-williams-and-free-and.html
-
Perhaps we all need to get off the politically correctness bus and recognize that to the individuals involved, their perceptions are real, and they and others may feel their reactions are reasonable and prudent. Strange! One might think that the touchy-feely liberals would be OK with that! Aren’t they the ones who always ask “how do you fee about that”?

Some Republican National Priorities

First:
1. Freeze all funding for: ObamaCare
2. Freeze EPA funding for carbon restrictions
3. Establish a no-increase in spending budget (Obama and the Democrats don't have one!)
4. Rollback the spending and don't increase taxes on anyone
We don't have a taxing problem, we have a spending problem
5. Stop subsidizing the burning of our food (ethanol)
http://roanokeslant.blogspot.com/2010/11/stop-burning-food.html
-
Then:
Repeal ObamaCare
-
Cut in-half the DOEd, DOE, DOT, and the EPA. These bloated bureaucratic agencies are totally unnecessary. Every state has these functions and has the responsibility for these functions.
Talk about saving money and reducing unnecessary restrictions and bureaucracy!
-
Crank-up domestic energy production including nuclear power plant construction.
-
Reduce the endangered species list to a maximum of 100 entities that are truly important and in our national interest.
Call it the Charles Darwin act of science instead of politics and misdirected emotion.

Black Unwed Moms & HIV+AIDS

-
Roanoke Times, 11-8-10, Pg 1: Discourse over black unwed moms is growing; According to government statistics, 72 % of black babies are born to unmarried women.
-
The discourse needs to focus on the black men who are sexually abusing vulnerable young black women without any responsibility, accountability or liability. Included in that abuse is felony statutory rape for which there is no legal action taken.
-
Their unprotected sex isn’t just resulting in babies born out of wedlock. The major horrendous adverse consequence is the pandemic of HIV+AIDS resulting in the primary cause of death of young black women and the plight of babies born with this fatal disease.
-
CDC HIV among African Americans
http://www.cdc.gov/hiv/topics/aa/
“By race/ethnicity, African Americans face the most severe burden of HIV in the United States (US). At the end of 2007, blacks accounted for almost half (46%) of people living with a diagnosis of HIV infection in the 37 states and 5 US dependent areas with long-term, confidential, name-based HIV reporting. In 2006, blacks accounted for nearly half (45%) of new infections in the 50 states and the District of Columbia. Even though new HIV infections among blacks overall have been roughly stable since the early 1990s, compared with members of other races and ethnicities they continue to account for a higher proportion of cases at all stages of HIV—from new infections to deaths.”
-
The liberal-progressive culture, media, church and judges just look the other way and allow this activity to go unabated. Apparently it would be politically incorrect and-or racist to intervene. In many ways this is a new form of self-imposed slavery that may be more heinous than the original sin.
The height of the pandemics hypocrisy was Obama’s minister, Wright, publicly proclaiming that the US invented HIV to conduct “genocide against people of color”.
http://roanokeslant.blogspot.com/2008/03/obamas-rev-wright-very-wrong.html
-
TAKE ACTION TODAY: DEMAND THAT HIV+AIDS BE DEFINED AS AN STD!
This will immediately activate the public health systems that are used for all other major communicable diseases, since the time of Typhoid Mary, and will be a major process to control this pandemic. After 25 years and millions of horrible deaths and incredible burdens on family, friends and the health system, isn’t it past time to fix this problem?

STOP BURNING FOOD!

STOP BURNING CORN -- CORN IS FOR EATING !

Of all the reasons starving people around the world hate us -- burning corn in our vehicles is near the top of the list.
-
Burning our food is perhaps the most misguided and misdirected actions of our government in a search for energy independence. The government is subsidizing and mandating the burning of corn (food) in our vehicles.
-
Ethanol is not even a good fuel substitute. It costs more than gas, develops less horsepower, yields less miles per gallon and does serious damage to many fuel systems.
-
Stop using ethanol until processes are developed that utilize non-food sources of vegetation.
-
"Ethanol fuel (especially ethanol distilled from corn) is subsidized in dozens of ways by governments at all levels. Two of the longest-running subsidies -- a 54-cent-per-gallon tariff on imported ethanol, and 45-cent tax credit for every gallon blended with gasoline -- expire on Dec. 31, making them a top priority for industry lobbyists during the lame-duck session."

Roanoke Times: Bats, Elections, Foreclosures, ObamaCare & Outsourcing

-
Today’s Roanoke Times, 11-7-10, was a smorgasbord of moping and whining and frantically searching for reasons that the election results were an aberration.
-
Pg 1: Bat population threatened by disease. What a change from the steady RT drum beat that bats were being wiped out by wind-turbines! Perhaps the answer is to put them on the endangered species list. That should make them all better and certainly will result in lots more federal jobs and lots of additional restrictions on people and the economy.
-
Pg 1: Foreclosure system ripe for errors in Virginia. “One lawyer said flaws are likely common”. This is a front page story? "One lawyer says"? No wonder folks are canceling their subscriptions to the RT. The sad truth is: if you miss paying your mortgage for several months the entire balance is due, which of course, no one can pay! The paper work is simple: you either have you cancelled checks that showed you paid or you don’t!
The proper RT headline should be: if you can’t pay the full amount of your mortgage payment on time, get down to the bank and work with them and try to workout a deal.
-
Pg 3: Obama the outsourcer or maybe just the sorcerer; after all it is Halloween time! Obama in India with an entourage of hundreds costing the taxpayers tens of millions of dollars. For the last three years, starting with his primary campaign Obama hammered the Republicans for trade agreements (many of which Clinton arranged) that were outsourcing jobs that Americans should have. Now the New Improved Obama says that “India is a major creator of American jobs”! Talk about your cool-aide! We can hardly wait for his Excellency to come-on-down to Danville and Martinsville and explain that to the folks down there. Better he should stick with UVa students who have never had a job or supported themselves or paid taxes.
-
Pg B1: Rising cost of health care: Business reacting to rising health care including the employees of Carilion Clinic, the biggest health care entity in the region. Wasn’t ObamaCare going to give us: better care for more people at lower cost? And what’s with the AARP? They hawked ObamaCare for the Democrats for the past year and now they’re “shafting” their own employees with the reality of ObamaCare. Something about chickens coming home to roost.
-
Pg H1,2,3: A tsunami of left-wing liberal editorials and commentaries lamenting the results of the election. Moderates a dying breed, a requiem mass for Boucher and Perriello and the demise of the blue-dogs, Oh woe is me! The reality is many of the Democrats ran as blue-dogs and then served as Pelosi lap-dogs. No real blue-dog would have voted for Cap&Tax, ObamaCare and the Stimulus; they misrepresented themselves and got what they deserved!
Now lets cut in-half the DOEd, DOE, DOT, and the EPA. These bloated bureaucratic agencies are totally unnecessary. Every state has these functions and has the responsibility for these functions. And while were at it let’s reduce the endangered species list to a maximum of 100 entities that are truly important and in our national interest. Let’s call it the Charles Darwin act of science instead of politics and misdirected emotion.

Obama Calls Republicans “Enemies”

-
Couldn’t find this in the Roanoke Times! Just imagine the front page story IF Bush had called the Democrats Enemies!
-
New News Update -- browse down to end of item
-
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/11/01/obama-backtracks-enemies-comment/?test=latestnews
-
"Sadly, we have a president who uses the word 'enemy' for fellow Americans He used it for people who disagree with his agenda of bigger government," Boehner said,
-
It is difficult to understand the mental state of a President of the United States who would refer to members of the Republican Party as “Enemies” of the people and that includes me!
-
Americans are so "scared" they're not thinking straight about the upcoming elections, President Obama said over the weekend,
http://roanokeslant.blogspot.com/2010/10/obama-americans-cant-think-straight.html
It’s now clear that it’s Obama, not the American people who can’t think straight!
-
Has any American president ever berated and disrespected the American people like this?
There has never been such an arrogant, elitist, and condescending president in our history!
-
Hopefully this election (today – Nov 2, 2010) will politically-emasculate his holiness and the next election will sweep him and his court jesters out of office.
-
What a sad chapter in American political history.

Roanoke Times coverage of this item: Tues, 11-2-10, Pg 4, small fine print in political notebook:
Obama: President backtracks on reference to "enemies"
Amazing! The RT Editors hide this lame Obama response without a single word of disappointment or righteous indignation or rebuke for one of the most gross Obama acts: labeling his political opponents as "enemies". Is there any Obama act so heinous for which the RT Editors would publicly admonish him? Apparently not.
