Who writes these headlines and stories and what’s their agenda?
Birds, particularly flocks of birds, are a significant and real hazard to aircraft, the people in them and the people on the ground at risk from a plane crash.
Something about: Birds,  US Air 1549, Capt. Sullenberger, and the Hudson River.
Management of birds around airports is indeed important and justified – so – what’s with this headline?

Obama admin regulation allows wind turbines to kill up to 4,200 bald eagles per company
“Bald and golden eagles may be legally killed or injured in the thousands by high-speed turbines (reaching speeds up to 170 miles per hour), under new regulations released Wednesday by the Obama administration. The rules, which affect individual wind-energy companies that plan to operate the technology for up to 30 years, allows up to 4,200 of the birds to perish.”

Studies at Wisconsin Univ estimates 39 MILLION birds are killed by cats each year in that state alone.
They estimate that hundreds of millions of birds are killed within the US plus lots of other wildlife like baby bunnies.
Cats are natural-born killers
