Happy Father’s Day to all those men who are making the real effort to provide love, guidance and sustenance to their family!

Father’s have been a key component of ‘the family unit’ for thousands of years. Early societies recognized the importance of family because children are highly dependent for many years and the survival of the society depended on Father’s providing and protecting.

Our society’s recent history is departing from that time-proven model and our society and children are paying a high price for that neglect.

Juneteenth: Freedom Day

Juneteenth is now a Federal Holiday in remembrance of the emancipation of the slaves at the end of the Civil War.
This date and its meaning has been celebrated for many years here in Franklin County, Virginia at the Booker T. Washington Memorial.

The Democrats are catatonic over the prospect that for the first time in 47-years, since Carter’s Iran hostage crisis of 1979, we may be witnessing a massive change for peace and stability in the MiddleEast and history may be giving Trump The Credit.

Even FoxNews is hyper over not yet seeing the details of the agreement.

Trump keeps reminding Iran that the prospect of being ‘bombed back into the stone-age’ is still ‘on the table’. (Reflections of Curtis LeMay)

Apparently, The Lynchburg GOP leadership flashed back to the ‘good-ole Tea Party days, utilizing a ‘Firehouse Primary’ to limit and bias voter participation and control the outcome with “manipulative operators”.
In stepped the RPV Republican Party of Virginia who thrashed the Primary and ousted those deemed responsible for the shenanigans and deactivated the local unit.
Unfortunately, a dozen years, ago this type of “activity” went unchecked in some districts for years.
Talk about being “disconnected from reality”! Do these people Not understand that the Democrats have taken over Virginia and that the Republican Party requires the best highest caliber Virginians to represent our party and all Virginians?

"Firehouse primary results ejected, Lynchburg GOP dissolved

The Republican Party of Virginia’s central committee voted Saturday to throw out the results of the Lynchburg GOP’s firehouse primary, held on May 30, and to declare the local party defunct in response to how it handled the primary for the three at-large seats on council.
In a vote of 55-17 at a meeting in Fredericksburg, the State Central Committee of the RPV agreed to take the action based on its review of three appeals filed against how the Lynchburg Republican City Committee (LRCC) ran the firehouse primary.
The appeals alleged various types of malfeasance and impropriety during the firehouse primary process".

The RPV’s central committee, composed of nearly 80 members, is the governing body of the state party. It manages the party's affairs, sets bylaws, oversees elections, and rules on internal nomination disputes.

All current executive officers of the LRCC, except Steven Troxel, are banned from serving in a leadership position for the remainder of the current term, until the end of 2027.

Former City Councilman Jeff Helgeson was singled out for the most severe penalties based on how he campaigned for the team of Bratton, Misjuns and James “Trae” Watkins in the primary while serving on the purportedly neutral firehouse primary’s electoral board.
The central committee voted to formally censure Helgeson and bar him from all Republican offices, including LRCC membership, until the end of 2027.

The appeals committee then reconvened the following day with RPV Counsel Chris Marston to discuss and vote on remedies for the Lynchburg Republican Party.
Faraldi described the central committee’s ruling as “monumental” and “overwhelming.”
“In other words, 40-plus Republicans ruled that this firehouse process was indeed a dumpster fire and violated many party rules."

"It is about accountability," she (Beth White) said. "For years, Lynchburg Republicans have been dragged into controversy because of the actions of a select few. Those few have acted like they speak for the majority, but they do not."

Not only did we let the ‘teachers unions’ destroy teaching & learning during the pandemic, but it has not been restored since!
In stark contrast are the religious-based schools that continued teaching during the pandemic with minimal medical issues and significant academic success.
At last, the teachers ‘who care’ are raising the teaching-learning issues impacting our students and our schools. If California can come out of the closet, so hopefully, can all our other schools. Hopefully better late than never.
