Remote access to smart meters
Smart meters also allow us to do things remotely, such as meter readings and turning your meter on or off. We will be able to remotely collect meter readings daily, ensuring that your smart meter is working properly. Smart meters also enable us to turn your electric service on and off without having to send an employee to your home or business.

Everyone should know that in-addition-to the major insight into your life by being on the internet, that Amazon Echo & Alexa Devices extends that ‘open book’ deep into your personal and private lives.
But now your electric company has extended ‘Big Brother 1984’ inside your home and can control your home temperature.
The electric companies have been busy ‘upgrading’ residential electric meters.
Ostensibly to more easily and remotely read your electric usage and automate your billing.

BUT when you signed for the new meter, there was an ‘Innocuous Item’ on the notice.
It requests your permission for the electric company to control your temperature thermostat ‘in the event the power company needs to balance the load on the grid’.
In some cases they offer a token rate reduction to sign-on.
Really? Balance the load on the grid?
Why doesn’t the electric company have sufficient capacity to handle peak loads?
Has that not been and is their mission and job for over 100-years?
Apparently not since the state and federal governments have decreed the end of nuclear and fossil-fuel generation long before providing 24-7-365 ‘renewable-energy’ capacity to replace our existing systems.

The next day he announced: We’re short of electricity – Do Not Plug In Your EV!
Same Insanity: ban gasoline vehicles way before EV and Charging Facilities are even close to general availability.
