      Maine Terrorist : Government Debacle

          -
Almost the entire so called news-organizations have marginalized and suppressed the fact that before he became violent Robert Card was taken into custody at his West Point Military reserve assignment because of erratic and threatening behaviors and statements.
He was evaluated and released, apparently without notifying the Maine police of the incident nor apparently was the Federal Firearms Agency ATF notified to put Card on the ‘do not possess or purchase a firearms list’!  That act would have resulted in confiscation of all his firearms months before his killing-spree.
-
Biden again hypes more gun laws while his bureaucrats and friendly-media suppress the facts and situation of Not Acting On Existing Laws.
Where is the investigation into this major government failure and why isn’t the ‘major media’ covering it?

Maine mass killing suspect dead, ending search that put state on edge (cnbc.com)
Card, 40, of Bowdoin, Maine, was a U.S. Army reservist who underwent a mental health evaluation in mid-July after he began acting erratically during training, a U.S. official told The Associated Press.
-
A bulletin sent to police across the country “shortly after the attack” said Card had been committed to a mental health facility for two weeks this past summer after “hearing voices and threats to shoot up” a military base.
-
A U.S. official said Card was training with the Army Reserve’s 3rd Battalion, 304th Infantry Regiment in West Point, New York, when commanders became concerned about him.
State police took Card to the Keller Army Community Hospital at West Point for evaluation, according to the official, who was not authorized to publicly discuss the information and spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity
-
Family members of Card told federal investigators that he had recently discussed hearing voices and became more focused on the bowling alley and bar, according to the law enforcement officials who spoke on condition of anonymity. When he was hospitalized in July in New York, Card had told military officials he had been hearing voices and said he wanted to harm other soldiers, the officials said.

And talk about bureaucratic CYA:
Authorities: Robert Card Not Involuntarily Committed, So Could Buy Guns (breitbart.com)
Maine Commissioner of Public Safety Mike Sauschuck indicated during a Saturday morning press conference that Maine shooting suspect Robert Card was never involuntarily committed for mental health issues and was therefore not barred from passing a firearm background check.
-
Breitbart News reported that police took Card for an evaluation at a hospital while he was at West Point in mid-July 2023, and this raised questions of why Maine’s yellow flag law was not triggered.

Maine police were alerted weeks ago about shooter's threats (aol.com)
Police across Maine were alerted just last month to “veiled threats” by the U.S. Army reservist who would go on to carry out the worst mass shooting in the state’s history, one of a string of missed red flags that preceded the massacre.
Two local law enforcement chiefs told The Associated Press that a statewide awareness alert was sent in mid-September to be on the lookout for Robert Card after the firearms instructor made threats against his base and fellow soldiers. But after stepped-up patrols of the base and a visit to Card’s home – neither of which turned up any sign of him – they moved on.

Reports: The Maine Shooter Was Able To Buy Guns Legally – Mother Jones
Robert Card, who shot and killed 18 people in Lewiston, Maine, during a rampage on Wednesday, bought guns in July, just before being hospitalized and ordered to undergo a psychiatric evaluation, according to CNN.
-
New York State Police told the broadcaster that police were called to Camp Smith in July, where Card was serving in the National Guard, because he was acting “belligerent” and was potentially “intoxicated.” An unnamed federal law enforcement source told CNN that Card informed Army personnel he was “hearing voices” and having thoughts about “hurting other soldiers.”
