Like many others, I paid for my education, my wife’s education, most of both my boys education, helped my granddaughter and I’ve paid property taxes for many other people's public school children, why should I now pay for someone else’s college education they signed up for!

It’s Not about Who is asking – It’s about The Compelled Message!

The U.S. Supreme Court on Thursday struck down race-conscious student admissions programs currently used at Harvard University and the University of North Carolina in a sharp setback to affirmative action policies often used increase the number of Black, Hispanic and other underrepresented minority groups on campuses.

Now, after 60-years (1963 to 2023) of legal and administrative and financial efforts to bypass the 14th Amendment and help account for discrimination and provide some level of equality-restitution, the SCOTUS has decided that the US should move forward without the use of race as a special factor in schooling; and perhaps that will be extended soon to all forms of public and private decision making and access.

Apparently The SCOTUS concluded that the time was right to end ‘racial-preferences’ and defer to the 14th Amendment.
Clearly many others will not agree or accept this decision and its outcomes.
It appears that many young black students have needed a ‘boost’ to get into the college of their choice; not clear how that was ‘managed’ going forward after ‘getting in’.
Is that because of ‘systemic racism’ or other factors such as lack of good intercity schools, dysfunctional family homes, community attitudes, peer pressures and violent neighborhoods?

Perhaps this decision will increase the pressure to fix the inner-city problems that plague our black youths and communities. Perhaps voting into office those people who are ready, willing and able to bring law and order to the streets and establish a nurturing, academic and safe environment in the schools and a positive change to the family units.
It’s fair to observe that Democrats have long ruled over these communities and it’s time for them to stop the race-baiting and coddling and start leading.
All this is painfully clear right here in River City Roanoke.

has there been such a fuss from media and politicians to our ongoing less-than-OK mail service that deteriorated significantly when local mail processing was moved from Roanoke to North Carolina.

A casual observation:
Our two Democrat Senators, Kaine and Warner, have been perpetually in the Roanoke Times and Roanoke ‘TV-news’ since Republican Governor Youngkin won the southern-half of Virginia. Couldn’t guess at the ‘equivalent free campaign contributions’ that involves.

So instead of focusing on Biden’s Postmaster General Louis DeJoy who has personal responsibility for the US Post Office, the Roanoke Times is hyping what Kaine and Warner are going to do and we’re encouraged to send our complaints in to the Roanoke Times as the US Post Office Complaint Clearing House – Really?

Here’s a real plan: Let’s have Kaine, Warner and Casey get Biden’s mail-boy DeJoy down here to an old-fashioned town-hall meeting to explain His plans to fix the problems?
Something about old-fashioned responsibility and accountability.

Perhaps that’s valid since insanity has been described as:

Arlington-Falls Church Commonwealth Attorney Parisa Dehghani-Tafti won a decisive victory against primary challenger Josh Katcher after running a reelection campaign focused on "restorative justice" principles, such as ending cash bail and drug criminalization.
In addition to Dehghani-Tafti and Descano, Loudoun County Prosecutor Buta Biberaj was victorious against her primary opponent, Elizabeth Lancaster, by more than 10 points.

MVP Political-Judicial Extortion May End?

The Mountain Valley Pipeline MVP has been held-up with Political-Judicial blackmail for 4-years.
The project had all required approvals before starting clearing land and excavating trenches.
Then the anti-fossil-fuel movement became a major Democrat Jihad and a small cabal of political-judges were assigned to intervene.
Through 4-years of legal thrashing there has not been any significant design or construction issues worthy of a stop-work order --- just political-judicial malfeasance.
The MVP is back to whence they started – with permits to build the pipeline! Not clear when the next skirmish in the Jihad will occur.

Clearly these 'judges' have Not gone away!

A final permit issued Friday may be enough to get the Mountain Valley Pipeline across the remaining rivers, streams and wetlands that have long blocked the project’s path to completion.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers gave its approval for construction through hundreds of water bodies in Southwest Virginia and West Virginia, as it was required to do by a recently passed federal law that fast-tracks the controversial project.
Mountain Valley has previously said that it has completed more than half of the nearly 1,000 water body crossings along the pipeline’s 303-mile route.
But on Friday, company spokeswoman Natalie Cox wrote in an email that there are “approximately 643 total water resources to be crossed, including water bodies and wetlands, some of which may be crossed more than once.”
But one thing seemed clear Friday: Mountain Valley now has approval to complete a natural gas pipeline delayed for more than four years by "permitting complications and legal challenges."

Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Commissioner Mark Christie warned of the potential for “catastrophic consequences” for the reliability of the American power grid if the U.S. does not stop phasing out fossil fuel infrastructure before renewable infrastructure is capable of replacing its output.

Christie made the remarks as part of his testimony at a Tuesday hearing held by the House Committee on Energy and Commerce. “I think we’re heading for potentially very dire consequences, potentially catastrophic consequences in the United States in terms of the reliability of our grid, and I think that the basic reason is that we’re facing a shortfall of power supply,” Christie testified.
