Doctor’s Want 12 Year Old Girls To Have Over-The-Counter Morning-After Pills

The American Academy of Pediatrics says 17 year old girls can get Plan-B pills over-the-counter and there should be no age limit for these anti-pregnancy medications.

One is always amazed at these revelations given that a school registered nurse can’t give a Midol or a Tylenol or a cough drop to a teenage student without a doctor’s authorization!

How do you give this authority to a 12 year old girl (absent any medical or parental guidance or knowledge) without enabling and promoting non-safe-sex behavior?
-
Compared to the STD pandemics of HPV, herpes, gonorrhea, and HIV+AIDS it appears that an unwanted pregnancy may be the least of this child’s risks.

If this is the “Villages” best answer to raising and helping our children – God Help Us!

As one who cannot bring himself to say “Radical Muslim Terrorists” for any of the attacks upon Americans one can only guess where Obama and associates are driving this radical change in the world order. However, it certainly appears the “Hope” part is now history as Sharia Law is totally incompatible with Democracy as we know it and personal Freedom as we have enjoyed it.

Behind all this, and enjoying it immensely, are the Iranians. They will soon have nuclear weapons that can be delivered by planes, trucks and boats by a never ending supply of suicide-fanatics reminiscent of the Jap-Kamikazes. In a short time they will also be able to deliver their nukes on missiles with great range and accuracy.

And Obama tells us that we’re safer today then four years ago!
Talk about insulting the people’s intelligence!
Hold-on – perhaps it’s not an insult, or not intelligence – he just got reelected!

And through it all the major liberal media continues to sell Obama’s Snake Oil.

Libya-Benghazi Mess And Misdirection And Cover-up Go On

Omissions? No; that’s not THE story! The Story is the massive disinformation broadcasting leading up to the election by Obama and associates that the attack was just some street protesters that got carried away.

Changing the CIA document from “Al Qaida connected terrorists” to “extremists” is a part of the story that apparently has now resulted in “lying to Congress” charges being directed at high-level Obama appointees.

An interesting item is Obama’s statement that he sent Susan Rice, US Ambassador to the UN, to present mis-and-disinformation to the five major weekend talk shows because she didn’t know anything about the situation. (Apparently he thought it was a good assignment for a dumb-girl!)
And all the girls in the liberal media and the NOW girls found this grossly condescending and marginalizing explanation to be perfectly OK!

Climate Change And Health

It is fact that climate change impacts public health. During the Medieval Warm Period there was good living in Europe where they were busy growing and eating lots of good stuff and building structures that clearly could not have been built by sick people. Then the Little Ice Age arrived and a lot of people starved to death and froze to death (certainly a public health threat). Circa 1750 to 1800 the Little Ice Age abated and we warmed up a little to our current situation.
It's not clear what temperature and climate Dr. Ahdoot would prescribe as "just right". And it's also not clear that Mother Nature would cooperate with that prescription.
Rather like Goldilocks's and the Three Bears.

According to NASA’s records (graphs and links below)
There is somewhat less than 1 degree of warming since the end of the little ice age, circa 1750 – 1800 about 120 years ago.
Perhaps we should expect a little natural warming after such a big deep-freeze.
We "old folks" were somewhat concerned during period 1940 to 1975 that we were drifting back into another very cold period but mother nature was kind and our temperature has stabilized at a reasonable level. It’s not clear when or if we will get back to the good old balmy days of the Medieval Warm Period.

What “budget” year? Obama and Reid haven’t enacted a budget in four years!
“The nation is on a path to its fifth straight $1 TRILLION-Plus annual deficit”.
Not to worry – we’ll just borrow the money or print the money and keep spending!

October 2011 compared to October 2012:
Tax revenue increased 13% to $184 Billion
But: Spending rose 16% to $304 Billion
That’s an “over budget” red ink of $120 Billion after 4 years of Obama-Recovery

They also need lots of new tax money to spend because they will also be using taxpayer funds to bail-out the public employees union retirement funds that are massively underfunded and the indebtedness of the big-blue states like California that are bankrupt.

It appears Obama and associates will be successful because they will be long gone from office before they run out of “other people’s money”; and others will be left to cope with the adverse consequences.

Veterans Day At The D-day Memorial Nov 12, 2012

In Addition to the five High School ROTC Corps of Cadets that were major participants in this event,
The teachers and students from the Timberlake Christian School also played a major role.
Each 4th grade student had written a letter to a Veteran and at this event each student personally handed their letter to a veteran who was there at the Memorial. Following is a letter from Grace N. What a touching and thoughtful message and a very meaningful activity for a child.

It is comforting to know that there are still classrooms in this County in which the word and message of God are embraced and articulated without fear of retribution from the ACLU and their associates in the media and our government.

Obama’s Libyan Benghazi Embassy Mess Now Worse Than Watergate

The big difference: Nobody died at or in the Watergate!
A very interesting aspect of Nixon’s Watergate was that it happened at the end of his first term and caused his demise in his second term.

Fast forward to Obama’s Libyan Benghazi Embassy debacle with its latest revelation that Obama’s FBI had been shadowing the CIA Director Gen. Petraeus and determined he was having an affair. Didn’t the Liberals accuse J. Edgar Hoover of doing bad things like this for purposes of blackmail and intimidation? Conservatives accused JFK and his brother AG Robert of doing the same dirty tricks!

After the illicit affair was established by the FBI, Gen. Petraeus publicly reinforced the Obama/Clinton fairytale that the Libyan Embassy attack and the murder of our Ambassador and three of his associates was caused by a video-movie about Mohamed and was not the result of Radical Muslim Terrorists.
-
The real story of the lead-up to the attack, the conduct of US responses during the 9 hours of the attack and then the lies and alibis about the Obama Administration’s actions and inaction's were suppressed and stone-walled from the American people leading up to the election aided and abetted by Gen. Petraeus' public statements.
-
Then 5 days before Gen. Petraeus was to testify about this malfeasance before Senate and Congressional Committees, the General abruptly resigned from office and the story is that he now will not testify.

And we’re all supposed to believe that all this is OK and there’s really nothing to this story and that there was no malfeasance or cover-up!

It’s Not Just Four More Years, It's Much Bigger Than That

As with any win-loose contest, those who chose the loosing team are now left with disappointment and uncertainty.
At the expense of sounding like Aesop's “sour grapes”, the losers will now have ample opportunity to expound on the reasons for their failure and for the other team’s success.
-
For today, the day after, it should be sufficient to simply acknowledge reality and bask in the wonder of the American System in which we the people are empowered to make these choices of our own free will. What an amazing system! What an amazing place!
-
Regardless of whom our leaders are, one thing is for certain, we are all in this together!
-
It’s clear that our national priorities are now very different than in the past and we have embarked on a new course. These new directions will result in a county looking more like Western European countries than we have in the past. Perhaps this is the result of the personification of the maturing of a society as it goes through its life cycles.
-
What is also clear is that the torch has been passed to a new generation whose views and values are very different from those who were part of, or who came from, “the greatest generation”.
The changes in: focus on religion, traditional family life, work ethic, service to country and personal responsibility has been replaced by a new and different culture. JFK’s challenge: “ask not what your Country can do for you, ask what you can do for your Country” was not mentioned in this election cycle. Only time and experience will determine if these changes are positive progress.

Hopefully our Country will continue to be blessed with the concepts espoused in the words of “America The Beautiful”.

Thanks for sharing your perspective/thoughts and maybe it will help me modify my "morning after thinking" a little. I think your point about recognizing the change in leadership and values away from the thinking of our generation is very true. Our country is very different today than when we were the young, energetic leaders providing much of direction. The new generations want more from their government and seem to be willing to pay for it. It will be interesting to see how the constraints that come when government gets more involved, play out with the younger generation.

Really? Where was this unbridled economic enthusiasm during the 2008 election cycle?

171,000 new jobs
170,000 jobs lost
Net = +1,000 jobs for October for the entire country after 4 years of Obama’s economic mismanagement and misdirection!

Hurricane Sandy At Arlington

It’s Not About FEMA; It’s All About The Local Governments

The damage and devastation and personal impacts from Hurricane Sandy are beyond normal understanding.
-
The initial impression is that FEMA is doing OK – however – FEMA’s involvement at the start of a disaster is very limited.
FEMA’s mission is to support the State and Local Governments in the event of a major incident.
FEMA’s mission is NOT to take-over, take-control or be the leader of the disaster recovery mission.
So why is FEMA looking initially better now than back with Katrina?
Let’s just compare the “who’s in charge”:

The sad reality will soon set-in that this will be a very long term disaster for many individuals and small businesses and local governments!
The seven steps of grief will be a difficult process for many who have lost so much, and unfortunately the unpleasant reactions of those who were primarily “inconvenienced” will not help the situation for either those who lost so much or those who are trying to assist.

Yet again a major item of contention will be the role of government, especially relative to those who choose to build and live in a high-risk location. Should taxpayers subsidize those who undertake these risks of for instance building on the barrier-islands and at sea-level?

Sept 2005: Hurricane Rita: Let me get this straight, it’s the same George Bush, it’s the same FEMA but there’s a different Governor and different Mayors for the impacted cities than were involved with Hurricane Katrina.
For those who didn’t evacuate, the results are very similar. A horrible experience and rescue a few at a time with helicopters and small boats after the storm and wind and rain have subsided.
