Desperately UpGrading Hurricanes

The US Hurricane season ended 2020 with six major cat 3,4,5 hurricanes.
The National Hurricane Center apparently went into a postmortem anxiety attack to get one of the cat 2 hurricanes upgraded to cat 3 in order to tie the seven major hurricanes of 2005.
Talk about fitting the data to get a desired outcome!
