Our Energy-Schizophrenic Government
In Oct 2019 The Obama Judges shutdown the MVP pipeline being built to carry W.Va fracking-natual-gas to NE US.
This would supply abundant US low-carbon low-cost fuel to the NE area that has major winter-time energy requirements.
Since then the Obama Judges have issued stop-work orders too many times to count although the entire plan was approved before construction started.
The PravdaMedia and Biden have praised the stop-work decrees and bad-mouthed the pipeline as a despicable endeavor and environmental disaster.

Now, after 4-years of Obama-Biden obstruction and stoppages, at staggering-costs that will be charged to future consumers, Biden sends his emissaries to the SCOTUS to support completing the last 20-miles of MVP – Really! Talk about Charlatans!
Throughout this 4-year ‘Obomination’ the project design and path and construction has stayed basically ‘the same’, delays all for naught!
MVP will stand for the next 100-years of service as a prime example of ‘the abuse of political and judicial and bureaucratic malfeasance’!

Biden administration joins GOP on Mountain Valley Pipeline at Supreme Court - Washington Times
The Biden administration is bucking environmentalists and joining Republicans in support of completing the Mountain Valley Pipeline — a 303-mile-long conduit that will deliver natural gas from West Virginia to Virginia (and on to the NE US).
U.S. Solicitor General Elizabeth Prelogar asked the Supreme Court on Friday to lift a 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals injunction on the project. About 20 miles of the pipeline, begun in 2018, remain to be built.

After running into a series of roadblocks this year, Mountain Valley Pipeline has won approval to bore under about 180 streams and wetlands it must cross to complete the natural gas pipeline.
In a unanimous order Friday afternoon, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission authorized what is essentially one piece of the construction that remains unfinished due to adverse court rulings.
FERC amended its 2017 certificate – perhaps the most important approval among more than a dozen federal and state permits – to allow Mountain Valley to tunnel below some water bodies, rather than digging a trench along their bottoms to bury a 42-inch diameter pipe using what’s called an open-cut process.

MVP Emerging Like ‘The Sphinx’ from the Appalachian Mountains.

What If we could bring West Virginia natural gas energy to the NY Metropolitan area to help supply reliable and inexpensive energy to the residents and businesses and governments of the north-east?

How to do that when Democrat leaders, including Cuomo in Albany, would not let gas pipelines be built in the western corridor along the Pennsylvania border and Route-17; a shorter route and reasonably friendly to traverse compared to a south-eastern route across the Appalachian Mountains and the Blue Ridge and then North.

MVP set out to build the pipeline in an environment of hostility not seen in that area since the Civil War. Unfortunately, the subsequent man-made delays and cost overruns have made the project less financially helpful to the customers than the original plan.

Of all the obstacles deployed by distractors, it’s not clear that any of them resulted in a better or safer pipeline; in fact, doubling the width of the clear-cut would have made the forest-fire-break more effective and accessible going forward.

The MVP should be renamed to the 'Sen. Manchin Pipe Line' to recognize his major successful efforts getting the final approvals in place.

MVP Nears Completion
Mountain Valley Pipeline nears completion
MVP construction almost done, developers say (roanoke.com)
Six winters ago, the first of many trees was felled to make way for a behemoth natural gas pipeline that would snake its way through the mountains of Southwest Virginia.
After many starts and stops — which took the Mountain Valley Pipeline through regulatory hearings, courtrooms, Congress and eventually the U.S. Supreme Court — it appears the end is in sight.
Mountain Valley “has continued to make significant forward construction progress” and remains on target to have the 303-mile pipeline completed by the end of March, the company said in a Jan. 3 filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

For six years the Roanoke Times has been the flag-bearer for the AntiMVP movement, accenting the negative and eliminating the positive.
Clearly there are valid multi-year negative issues, however, providing low-cost low-emissions American fuel and energy to millions of fellow Americans should be acknowledged at some point.

The Obama-Judges have delayed for over 2-years the completion of the MVP pipeline by siding with government bureaucrats that invent whatever requirements they deem appropriate as they ‘go along’.
MVP is a fracking-gas transport pipe system that should have been in place by now and would be helping to off-set today’s energy shortages and inflation and assist US Energy Independence.
Hopefully the SCOTUS decision reigning in the EPA, and ostensibly all government bureaucracies, will unhobble worthy and needed infrastructure projects so they may proceed.

MVP equipment destroyed in early morning vandalism (roanoke.com)
The Virginia State Police is asking the public for information concerning the destruction of construction equipment early Thursday morning at a Mountain Valley Pipeline project site in Boones Mill.
Two pieces of heavy machinery used to excavate at the site near the 800 block of Leaning Oak Road in Boones Mill were set ablaze around 5 a.m. The Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation’s Salem Field Office responded to the scene to investigate the fires, according to a news release from the Virginia State Police.

The U.S. Supreme Court is being asked to overrule a decision that stopped construction of the Mountain Valley Pipeline, which remains stuck in a legal quagmire.
Attorneys for Mountain Valley filed an emergency appeal late Friday afternoon that seeks to reverse two stays issued earlier this week by the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
With the Supreme Court on its summer recess, the case is expected to go to Chief Justice John Roberts, who could either decide the matter himself or refer it to the full court, lawyers said.
The appeal states that a three-judge panel of the Fourth Circuit issued “two extraordinary stay orders” that defy the clear language of a law passed by Congress last month that was expected to fast-track completion of the natural gas pipeline.

The MVP pipeline hold-up boondoggle came into full national view at DC Congressional Meetings last week.
It’s clear that the hold-ups are politically motivated and secured by some highly politicalized Obama-Judges.
All this hurting fellow Americans with high costs and limited energy.

The national energy priorities and Russian energy hostage situation and the DC political games have now resulted in the MVP becoming a Political Pawn.

U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia has reached an agreement with Democratic leaders that could ease the regulatory and legal logjams that have long afflicted the Mountain Valley Pipeline.
As part of a concession won during negotiations over a federal climate and tax bill, Manchin struck a deal with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and President Joe Biden.
The agreement would ensure that federal agencies “take all necessary actions to permit the construction and operation” of Mountain Valley, according to a summary released Tuesday by Manchin’s office.
Manchin is a champion of Mountain Valley, a 303-mile natural gas pipeline that begins in his home state. He is also a swing Democratic vote, which enabled him to use the pipeline as leverage for his support of an Inflation Reduction Act that is a top White House priority

Dispite all the ‘chicken-little’ opining over the MVPs approval by Congress and the SCOTUS, and the absence of definitive real-world plan-implementation issues, the reality is that only 10% of the pipeline remains to be completed.

However, The Roanoke Times and associates are continuing their highly negative coverage of the MVP pipeline with no visible significant items to show for their jihad.
Clearly the Obama-Judges did inflict serious damage to the project through exhaustive litigation resulting in no significant changes-improvements to the pipeline but clearly adding to the costs, disruptions and increased erosion from open ditches and weathering of pipes that should have been buried two-years ago.
